How can the average person, especially students, help make New York City and the global community more ecologically sound and endurable? How can we educate and motivate the public?  How can we best direct our individual energies? What groups are already doing meaningful work?

This Spring, Gallatin's Student Council and The Gallatin Consciousness will be hosting a series of events in conjunction with the Mayor's Volunteer Center of NYC.  On Thursday, March 8, students and faculty are invited to meet with leaders from non-profit organizations in New York City that focus on the environment and sustainable development.  We will begin with an open conversation on the status of NYC's ecological challenges and the impact of initiatives for change.  Following the discussion, refreshments will be served and everyone in attendance will be able to network with various non-profits and public programs stationed throughout Room 802 of the Kimmel Center.
